Let's Create Together!
Hi I'm Tara Leuvina Smith
I'm so thrilled that you're here!
I'm is a visual artist with over a decade of experience in filmmaking. My journey began in 2012 during my first year as a Communication student at the University of Guyana; the moment I first looked through a lens, I fell in love with the art of moulding an idea into a frame. Since then, I have remained dedicated to creating films that capture the essence of a subject through its own authentic voice.
My academic background includes a Master of Science in Global Technology and Development from Arizona State University, and a Bachelor’s degree and an Associate's degree in Communication Studies from the University of Guyana.
Before directing and editing Paimîye, I've managed high-profile live productions and documentaries, including "Guyana and the Environment: A Conversation with Rt. Hon. Tony Blair and H.E. President Ali." Her portfolio also features the films "Dave Martins: The Man Behind the Music," "The Life and Work of Sattaur Gafoor," and "The Extraordinary Convocation of Letitia Wright." Additionally, I serve as one of the Lead Technical Directors for the University of Guyana’s Convocation Ceremony and work on university visual projects, including "Lil Ting Swing" and the "UG Citizen Science Series."
